SANGEETA RATHI
Mrs. Sangeeta Rathi is the Director of Umeed Foundation – Learning for Differently Abled children located at Gurgaon. She is a graduate in Business Management and holds the D.Ed.Spl.Ed (Diploma in Education – Special Education) from the IGNOU University, recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India. Her passion for in depth research on Autism led her to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Learning Disability from Orkids in affiliation with SNDT, Mumbai.Certified in Advance training by TEACCH from University of North Carolina, USA, Mrs. Rathi has also attended a “Regional Training on Deaf blindedness/ Multi-Sensory Impairment” organized by National Association for the Blind (NAB) in support with Sense International. TEACCH Autism program conducts training nationally and internationally and involves psychological, educational and biomedical studies.
Her 12 year old son, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder is the prime motivation behind Umeed. After moving from Delhi to Gurgaon in 2010 she found it very difficult to find the right school which would satisfy the needs of her son. This motivated her to start her own school which would not only benefit her child but also many other similar children.
